Happy Friday, Nostalgia Nuts!

In case you missed these this past week, here are Growing Up Movies Videosodes #1 and 2. GUM’s mission is about helping us deal with the difficulties of adulting, though nostalgic reconnection with things we loved when we were younger and accessing our innate childlike creative sensibilities. In Videosodes 1-2, I dig into a retro action figure toy world and visit an iconic, classical movie palace for a screening of “Top Gun Maverick.”

GUM will return next Friday, July 15th with Videosode 3: Adult Coloring Books. If you like what you see so far, please subscribe to the YouTube channel, comment, share, and visit www.growingupmovies.com where you can link to all the current social media pages.

See you next Friday for more nostalgic and childlike creative warmness!

Greetings Nostalgia Junkies! And WELCOME to GROWING UP MOVIES’s official launch day! It has been a long time coming, but I’m proud to finally present this new platform to you all. We are going to explore all things nostalgic and childlike creative-related. From movies, to toys, music, candy, fashion, trends, and especially being naturally creative. To start off, please check out Videosode #1, which is about retro action figures and creative displaying.

You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/C8Hbuv1XlLQ

On Sunday, we will launch Videosode #2, where I explore sequels made to classic movies many years later (ie: Top Gun Maverick) and historical movie theatres. So please join me on this free and fun ride and tap into your inner creative, nostalgic child. Let’s add some brightness to our days by reminding ourselves that life can be easier than the matrix wants us to believe. Let’s go back to a time when we created just for the fun of it! Because that kind of sentiment can do wonders for our adult souls. If you like what you see, please do comment and share, for that’s how we spread the good word! And check out www.growingupmovies.com

Much more to come!

Nearly 8 years ago, I had an idea to take fragments of a narrative “movie” that I made with my friends at the age of 12, and build a new show around the story, utilizing the original footage and bringing back the kids to reprise their roles, now as adults. That show has been finished for some time now. But I didn’t have the distribution plan I needed and the old Hollywood sale model was not going to help me. So, I’m doing something completely different and putting myself out there in a way I never have.

On Friday, I will be launching GROWING UP MOVIES - a content series that basks in pop culture nostalgia and special our relationship with the things we loved gone bye. Nostalgia also is deeply connected to our inner childlike creativity. Every week, I’ll be releasing fun stuff that covers subjects like action figures, adult coloring books, sports memorabilia, childlike creative ambition, retro T-shirts, and many more. We’ll talk about how these things can help ease the everyday anxieties of our adult lives. Especially considering the past couple of years- jeez!

I will post the first video this Friday evening, with a second to follow on Sunday, for the holiday weekend. If you are interested in taking a little trip back to the 80s and 90s or reconnecting with that lost creative kid were all once were - then I invite you to join me. This sequence of videos, “visual podcasts,” and other bits of content will precede the release of the aforementioned digital series, “Growing Up Movies presents Assholes In Arbitration.”

In a way, I have spent my whole life creating this project, so it will be an honor to present you with the first videosode this Friday 7/1 around 5pm on YouTube.

Please follow GUM on social media and subscribe to the YouTube channel, all accessible through this site.

Thank you for checking this out. Stay Tuned!

❤️ Greg
